At 4:00 PM the temple will be opened for dharsan. During festival time the timings of the daily poojas are changable.

ALAGAR KOVIL

In Alagar hills lord "Thirumal" is located in the name of "Alagar" and so it is called Alagar hills. This Vaishnavite temple has the unique reputation of the lord's revelation to the Pandya king Malayathuaja Pandian and Dharma Devashai. The episodes of Alvars have added to the honour of the temple. One hundred and twenty three vaisnavite hymns describe the glory of the temple. Even in the epic Silappathikaram of the classical epic age, the greatness of the temple is beautifully described.

THIRUMALAI NAYAK MAHAL

Thirumalai Nayak Palace is a 17th-century palace erected in 1636 AD by King Thirumalai Nayak, a king of Madurai's Nayaka dynasty who ruled Madurai from 1623-59, in the city of Madurai, India. This Palace is a classic fusion of Dravidian, Islamic styles. The building, which can be seen today, was the main Palace where the king lived. The original Palace Complex was four times bigger than the present structure. In its heyday, Tirumalai Nayak Palace at Madurai was considered to be one of the wonders of the South.

SRI AIYANAR SWAMI TEMPLE

Kochadai Village Deity Temple or Sri Aiyanar Swami Temple is located 5 Km from Periyar bus stand, Madurai. This temple is dedicated to Lord Aiyanar (Aiyanar). There are 21 deities in this temple. Since this god is very powerful no horse or carts drawn by horses are allowed in the temple vicinity. The sthala (place) vruksham (tree) of the temple is Tamarind tree. Devotees pour milk to Nagamma under the Tamarind tree, for the removal of Naga Dosha (curse of the snake).

THIRUPARANKUNDRAM

Thiruparankundram is an ancient temple which is 2000 years old, dedicated to Lord Murugan / Karthikeya. There are 11 famous ponds around the temple, out of which, Saravanapoigai and Lakshmi Theertham are very famous. This temple is not only worshipped by Hindus, but also by the Muslims. There is also a Muslim shrine here, dedicated to 'Sekunder'. This shrine is associated with Murugan by the Muslim pilgrims. It is believed that Sekunder was a friend of Muruga.
